Cloudize technologies are fundamentally built on MongoDB (and, in particular, MongoDB Atlas). Simply put, we believe that MongoDB is the best database platform for highly functional and highly performant APIs. Supporting a variety of databases was an initial consideration when we designed our software architecture, but this approach introduced some significant disadvantages without adding any major benefits. As a result, we elected to go deep in our native support for MongoDB and Atlas and to optimize every aspect of our technology and its integration with MongoDB to get the most out of the database with almost no human effort.
As an organization, we are committed to working with MongoDB in New Zealand to develop the MongoDB User Community through our investment in MongoDB User Groups (MUGS) in Auckland and Wellington.
In addition, and in support of these initiatives, we are developing and releasing several open-source technologies that add value to this community.
At this time, our MongoDB-related open-source technologies are as follows:
Managing spend has become a high-priority focal area for almost all businesses within the current economic climate. In March 2023, we wrote a blog article on how to implement the MongoDB Atlas Scheduled Scaling Agent to automatically scale your cluster up and down on a schedule.
If you're just after the code, you can access it here.
We are constantly working on new initiatives, and where we see value for the community as a whole and where these do not conflict with our core offerings, we'd be delighted to support the community in these areas through additional open-source projects. Let us know if you have an idea that you think we should be considering.
As a final comment, we welcome contributions and comments on the capabilities of the code bases and how they can be improved to better suit the requirements of the community, so please feel free to reach out. We'd love to hear your thoughts.
