We realised pretty early on that it was through the combination of these three pillars (know-how, technology and tooling) that success was ensured. Without the know-how, the experience of designing and building cloud services day-in and day-out, teams get bogged down and lost in the technology. Without the technology, the tried and tested frameworks and platforms, project scopes explode and become overwhelming. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, without specialised tooling, the path between know-how and technology, art and science if you like, becomes difficult to map, and teams struggle through the chasm of uncertainty.
